Job Overview

A distinguished law firm in Boston, MA, seeks a dedicated mid-level associate attorney to join its dynamic finance team. This role focuses on borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to high-stakes, sponsor-side private equity acquisition financing transactions.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on borrower-side private credit and leveraged finance transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex financing documents and agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues on acquisition finance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support financing structures and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
  • Proven track record with borrower-side financing; experience in sponsor-side private equity acquisition financing is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Bar of Massachusetts or another U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of borrower-side finance and acquisition structures.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when needed.
